THE USE OF CONCRETE IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE ZVĚROTICE TUNNEL
The article describes the use of concrete and the structures designed and constructed from it according to the principles of the observation method in the specific geotechnical conditions of the Zvěrotice tunnel: temporary and permanent structures to stabilize and protect the slopes of the construction pit, the implementation of pile walls and their overhangs, the tunnel lining itself, as well as cable ducts and other structures of the internal tunnel equipment. The two main disciplines, whose knowledge was crucial in determining the quality of the project, were equally geotechnical engineering and concrete structures.
