Článek volně navazuje na příspěvek „Lehký beton“, který vyšel ve speciální příloze časopisu Beton TKS [1] a kde lze nalézt více informací o historii a technologických aspektech lehkých betonů. Cílem tohoto příspěvku je ukázat obvyklé využití těchto betonů včetně zajímavých realizací a popsat současné trendy ve využití lehkého betonu jako materiálu nejen tepelněizolačního, ale zejména konstrukčního s přidanou hodnotou.

The article loosely follows the contribution “Lightweight Concrete”, published in special issue of the Beton TKS magazine [1], where more information about
the history and technological aspects of lightweight concrete can be found. The aim of this article is to show the usual use of these concretes, including interesting realizations and to describe current trends in the use of lightweight concrete as material not only of thermal insulation, but especially of construction with added value.
